How many miles so far?

As far as mileage, my computer says I'm getting 10.2 mpg. I drive only 9 miles each way to work so I believe it... I had a 99 F250 v-10 and that got 7-8 mpg no matter if the plow was on or I was pulling the boat. So I'm happy with the 10 mpg out of the 6.2L Now the real disapointment came from my 2004 F250 6.0L that only got 12mpg and had numerous turbo issues...

My 2012 F550 with a V10 and 4.88 gears gets 6 with a 15k load, and I have never driven the truck without a trailer.

I get 12-13.5 around town and 14-15.5 freeway. Just got home from a 200 mile trip unloaded with a minor head wind and got 14.7 and not all flat either.

Picked up my 2011 F-350 Lariat 4x4 in March of 2011. As of today I have 12,264 on her. Unfortunately I don't drive her that often, just pulling our 36' camper and my hunting trips in the fall - I've only put 26 miles on it since I filled my buck tag on November 25th. :-(
I am really happy with the mileage that I'm getting - averaging between 9-10 towing the trailer (about 9,000 lbs) and empty on the highway I'm getting 14-15 with the 3.73 rear.

The fuel mileage numbers sound pretty good! Need to get a few more payments made on my current truck or decide if I will just take the loss in equity on the trade in.

That's really low! Is that unloaded? Have you reset the gauge since you bought it? Do you like to put your foot into it? You should be getting much better than that.

Definitely a light foot on the gas...always have been.
The highest it's ever registered is 8.2 mpg, but more often 7.8 seems to be the norm. I just wrote it off because of new break-in.

I carry approx 1300lb with the racks, boxes and tools - no, I haven't reset anything yet, didn't know I needed to.

Try resetting the screen by holding down the "ok" button on the steering wheel. It's giving you the average mpg including idling. Reset it and cruise it around and see if it displays something different. Even with the racks and weight you have the numbers should be way higher. My truck has never displayed lower than 10 even towing.
BTW...2012 SD SCXL 6.2l 4x2 8ft bed 3.73 rear 1087 miles
Gotta job coming up soon with some highway miles - i'll do a follow up with those results as soon as I get them.
Thanks again

One of the guys I do work for has a 2012 F250 extended cab/long bed 4x4 with over 70,000 miles on it already. He apparently commutes every day from Pennsylvania to New Jersey, about a 120 mile round trip, and then uses the truck for deliveries around NJ.
So far he hasn't had any problems with it and seems to average around 12mpg.
