Pinion angle and shocks

Pinion angle and shocks
I have my 58 lowered. I notched both the front and the rear. And I put the axles on top of the springs. Can someone help me with the angle the rear end needs to be set? I am ready to weld the new preaches to the rear end. Also, I need new shocks. How do I measure the lenght? Mount to mount with the truck on the ground????
Thanks

you need to measure the angle of the rear of the transmission to determine what angle the pinion needs to be set at. the two faces need to be parallel to each other at ride height. also you want the rear end to point down about 2 - 3 degs from above angle so when under power they are parallel.
do a google search on pinion angle setup as there are quite a few articles on this subject and also on shock measurements.
