I am hoping to purchase a cable and a program for my laptop to connect to my expy. I have a 2010 Limited. What I am looking for however is what FORD uses at the dealership. I have 2 local dealers.. not bad folks just charge happy. There are times I would like to be selfsufficient and do some of my own work like turning on DRLs etc. I am computer savy as well as have a good wrenching ability ( All be it I know my limitations).

I am looking for directions as to what software and cables I need to purchase.

Try aeswave.com Google it . I have bought from them . Good svc. Fair price . I bought a low amp probe for my scope $200 less than off tool truck .

 

JWC are you a mechanic? Do you know if their apps will let me access the SJB etc. ?

 

Yes I am a mechanic . I use Snap On , OTC , and Launch scan tools . I'm sorry I do not know " SJB " ? Spell it out for me . BCM GEM ATC PCM ATCM I know . Seat mod's . door mods. fpdm's ect . Ase wave shows 14 current pc based scann apps , none Ford based . They do have good hand held listed . Thought it would be worth a look for you . Factor scann aps are $$$ .

 

JW.. Smart Junction Box ( SJB) supposedly it is accessed by the ford tools and can turn on the DRLs..on ALL Expys unless in canada ( or so I have been told)

 

Take a look at AE (AutoEnginuity). Their Ford Enhanced add on software supports bi-directional control. Apparently a number of dealerships use it for the routine work because of the price. (Save the NGS for the hard stuff.)
