Fan Shrouds?

Fan Shrouds?
As Torque1st has sugested. I have decided to try the original shroud rather than an electric fan for now. My question is what shroud did I have. How many different shrouds / radiators are their for these trucks. I have a 3 core radiator with auto trany lines. I hope this is a common one and not to hard to find.
Thanks Bill

The stock 351m/400 shroud will work on your engine .
The tanks on the radiator are the same width but they have 3 row core rather then a 2 row core.
Ford part number D7TA-AA and D7TA-SA will work for you !
77-79 trucks with the 351m/400 with that part number are the ones you want to look for.
Sorry Dennis

Fan Shrouds?
The 2 part numbers I posted are for :
D7TA-AA standard or extra cooling (351m)(F100)
D7TA-AA standerd extra and air (351m)
D7TA-AAtandard extra and air (400)
D7TA-SA standard or extra cooling (351m/400) These are all for '77-'79 trucks F100-F350
Why would ford make 3 different shrouds for the same engine (demensions)
The part store that I do business with only sells 3 row radiators they are considered stock replacement
Like I said before the tank is the same size for the 2 row and the 3 row the only difference is the core . Look at a 2 row radiator and then look at a 3 row measure the tanks and you will find the tank is the same for both.
One other thing is how does the radiator mount on the support.
is the radiator have a front flange or a rear flange.

AFAIK The flange that secures the radiator to the support and also supports the shroud is the same thichness whether it is a 2, 3, or 4 core radiator. The 4 core radiator was an option on some HD towing packages with certain engines.
The difference in length of the various engines would either have to be made up by shifting the motor backwards which is limited by the firewall or changing the length of the fan support or the shroud.
None of those part numbers is for a 460.

Okay, I'll concede.
I was worried about the distance one would have to attach it.
There is already minimal room with the 429 / 2 core to get the bolts off the fan.
To put the shroud on you have to remove the Fan & Fan clutch (if equipped), Then slip the shroud on and have it hang there until you bolt the fan/clutch on, then you attach the shroud.

I have a 351 that has a 4 core radiator from a 460 with A/C and auto trans and extra tranny cooler. Works wonders when towing. Most 460's in F350's had 4 core setups. I nfact all the while that I have been picking through junkyards I have never seen a 460 or 400 with a 3 core radiator. They have been 4 and 2 cores respectively.
