78 Tilt - Turn Signal Issue
Hi Guys,
I had a 78 Bronco Tilt Steering Column installed in my 71 Ranger XLT. At first, when I would hit the turn signal, it would flash normally, but when I applied the brake, it would quit flashing and just stay ON. This must have caused a fuse to go, or something, because now the turn signals don't work at all. Also, the turn signals don't cancel when you make a turn. The guys who did the work for me didn't know there was a 2nd flasher (for turn signal) and put in an "in line" flasher for the turn signals. I dunno if that's the problem, or not. For starters, do I need new turn signal switch? If so, where's a good place to get one?
Thanks,
Bob

H/D 4 way flasher located to the right of the steering column behind dash. Nestles into bracket retained to dash w/one screw.
The H/D 4 way flasher can be used in place of the T/S flasher (it has a louder CLICK), but the T/S flasher cannot be used in place of the 4 way flasher.

Just had to replace a turn signal sw in a tilt column. Don't know what connector you have on that switch but mine would not come up thru the column. Some guys cut all the wires and use butt connectors but I removed the wires from the connector so the wires could be pulled up thru. Its not hard. Notice where the wires are located inside the column before you pull them out.
