4 row radiator anyone?

Does anyone have a 4 row radiator? Not sure if I need a 3 or 4 row. The motor is a 351w prob pushin' 350-400 hp. Plus I live in AZ and it's 115 degrees in the summer. My truck came in pieces, and it didn't come with a radiator, so whats the pre-requisites for looking for a radiator?

thx peeps

I would go with the four row, that's what I,m using with a 302. Mid fifty has a nice bolt in four row with built in transmission cooler. They come with a choice of inlet and outlet locations.

If you lived most anywhere else in the world a 3 row would be best. AZ calls for all the radiator you can get for your money. IMO 4 row for sure in 115 degree heat.

I just order a four row from Coolcraft in California for my 1952 Flathead. Need the extra cooling here during Texas summers. You can specify the size of radiator, inlet and outlet size, and accessories required.

Howdy,

I don't live where it's hot but I had my radiator re-cored with a 4-row core.

I did it because it does get into the 90's here in the summer, I'll have A/C installed and I want to be able to pull my boat and/or load my truck up to 16,000lbs GVW.

You need a good heat exchanger if you're going to load it up.

You do not need it if you have a 1/2T truck you'll never load up. Also, loading up requires an engine driven fan. Electrics (except the HD type) won't cut it either.

I'll also have a separate trans cooler (with it's own fan) too

Cheers,

Rick
