hi guys i have a 1999 ford f150 4.6 engine and it has an exhaust leak but wondering what is the procedure to remove a broken bolt and the rest of the bolts on the manifold

 

I work on a fleet with 60 crown vics . All have the 4.6 . They also have several Explorers and Expy's . I have a lot of luck removing the manifold through the fender well . After removing the inner fender , and a pair of vice grips on the remaining bolt, It usually comes right out . If not , left hand drill bits work great . Not a lot of problems for me with the manifold bolts . I do see problems with the flange studs breaking .

 

If that doesn't work I think in the Craftsman section at Sears they sell a bolt extractor tool that will remove the broken stud for you. Hope this helps yah out.
