I have a chance to get a a running 1966 f100 as a everyday driver 6 banger 4 speed but it has a utility bed and im just looking for something that works and doesnt look hideous. Now Ive found a 57 -60 bed styleside fleetside whatever its called and was wondering if it fits and how much different will it look? Any help is appreciated. Also the bed is super cheap like 350 for a clean one. It wont be a show truck just a flat black rat rod to drive around in.

 

1957/60 Styleside Beds were also installed on: 1961/65 F100/250 4WD, 1962/63 F100/250 2WD, 1961/66 F350 (9' Express only), 1966 F250 4WD.

Known as "wrong beds" because the bed lines don't match up to the cab lines.

1964/66 F100/250 2WD, 1966 F100 4WD use different Styleside beds.

 

So it will not fit? or the body lines will not line up?

 

You could make it fit, but the body lines will not match up. Look thru the member gallery photos to see what one a these 'wrong beds' look like on a 1964/66.

 

Thanks, basically this is the deal i can get the truck for 1k cash it has a utility bed and I found someone willing to sell me a good shape bed for 350 so all in all Ill end up with 1350 total for the truck. I have some left over flat black from 1955 f100 and figured i could score me some white to hit the body lines and up with. So if i can find me a cheap disc brake conversion a carpet kit and a clean junkyard seat im in business clean truck for under 2k. The look doesnt bother me a bit and guess if I ever sell it I have to take the hit although i believe ill come out ahead no matter what in this situation. Really funny I used to hate these old fords hard core chevy guy but now I think its a better looking truck then the C10. Although ill never sell my 67 camaro or the f100 they are like my wives at this point.

The body lines dont really match but it will fit they ran them on 61-63 trucks too.
