Then some a$$ hole pulled out in front of me and I put it in the ditch instead of hitting him.

No more 300 I6

As it sits now

Only thing im having trouble finding is a rust free shortbed. (Dont wana run the stake bed anymore).

I think the 300 uses a sbf starter, but I'm not sure.

I have Windsor in my 79 f150. It's been a while since I bought the starter. I think I used a 302 starter.
I know there are 2 different tooth count flywheels, the 157 and I think a 128.
If the 300 had 157 teeth, I think it will work.
There is also a difference with the starter hole diameter on the bell housing dust shield. The thin plate between the motor and bell.

The flywheel i have is smaller than the original 6 cylinders by like 3/4"
So im sure the starter wont grab. Im wondering what starter would work in the smallblock bellhousing that would grab the 157 tooth 10.5 flywheel?

The starter's are the same, they are just clocked a little bit closer to the flywheel. If you have both bell housing's you can see the difference in the area where the starter bolt's to.

After read your last post I was thinking same as Big. Block said. All the starters I've seen always have the same size drive gear. It not like I've seen large starter gears and smaller ones. The started must just be farther from the center of the crank for a larger ring gear.
Which means the ring gear has to be matched up with the right bell housing.
