will these parts work with my 6.9

Found a 7.3 idi at a junk yard over the weekend and was wandering if the injectors and ip pump would work with my truck and if they would be better than the stock parts in my truck now. I'm friends with the owners grand children so I get good deals there.

its all good.
to expand a little, the condition of the used parts and yours, along with how well you get the timing set is what will really matter.
may be a good idea to call around with a few diesel shops and see about having them pick out the best of 8 injectors for ya for a few bucks.even if they are different codes, would be best to use the mix of the closest pressures and ones with some sort of spray pattern,or least kick aside the leakers.

Yeah I got leaks but I'm going to do return lines this weekend and see if it stayes dry and I mmostly want the ip as a spare, but yeah if I continue to leak I'm going to take em to a diesel shop to get em checked out. And once I have the funds to get an intercoller and totaly finish my turbo I'm going to get it dyno tuned but all in good time

The engine is really clean and all the paint is good not cracked flacked no oil laying anywerr so I'm kinda thinking it might have been a recent rebuild and its in a big *** international box truck and part of the truck is missing so I think I'm guessing thd back was done for and cut off to dcrap

The 7.3 pump will put about 5-10 more cc's than the 6.9 pump, they are not the same...

At a conservative 2.5whp/cc, thats a decent amount of power left on the table... 7.3 pumps are always worth it, even for cores...

Stock for stock
N/A for N/A

You are saying the 7.3 pump turned up all the way gives more fuel then the 6.9 pump turned up all the way ?

it's highly likely that the reason you feel such a drastic difference has to do with that she was drastically in need of the tune up, much more than anything else.
for example now,if you traded your current fresh parts for other fresh parts (take your pick of oem) you more than likely wouldn't feel any difference at all.
if the 7.3l ip can put out more fuel than the 6.9l ip,then this simply means you wouldn't turn the internal fuel screw up as far as you did on your 6.9l ip to get the correct air/fuel mix at wot on the 7.3l ip is all.you still have to properly tune the engine.you can't dump more fuel and magically expect to be able to burn it without supporting mods remember.

Quick Reply: will these parts work with my 6.9
