Does the OD OFF light on the end of the shifter work when you push the button? Is it flashing? When the computer senses a trans problem, it flashes the light. If the light isn't flashing, but works with the button, that's good. If it doesn't work with the button, it may be broken, or disabled by an unscrupulous seller. Either way, I'd read any trouble codes from the computer...

I'd suggest pulling codes. Easy and completely free. Try the link below. You will have to look to the Right side of the screen for the "Pulling codes".

This link should take you right to the page you want. http://oldfuelinjection.com/?p=13

Agreed, pull the codes. A malfunctioning sensor will cause E4ODs to have a fit.

The codes could have been done at home with a paper clip and notepad. Anyway, it could be the E4od torque convertor

I thought it might have something to do with the solenoid for the E4OD. Thanks for updating us, and enjoy your Ford!
