'90 IDI e40d in '97?
Ok, I found one thread several years back that touch basis on this swap, but it didn't get resolved to my taste.
In short, my e40d in my F350 4wd '97 stroker is suffering.
I located near me, an e40d out of a 1990 F250 IDI 4wd with a recent rebuild. The guy is selling the trans and torque converter because he complete his parts bin to do a manual swap and is releasing this transmission for a good price because he is desperate for money.
So what all do I need to know and get to make this transmission fit my truck?
From what I read, all I need to do is make sure I have a F7UP casting and not the later F18P casting. And then switch the solenoid pack for a proper '94-'97 Powerstroke one?
Is this all correct and do I need any more parts?
I also have access to the transfer case but I believe I can just use my own?
All help is greatly appreciated as I have no clue when it comes to auto trannies, rep will be given.
~Thanks, Justin.

Sorry, I've been unable to get online to reply lately.
I have picked up a re-manufactured 6-stud torque converter.
So all I need, is to pick up a fresh solenoid pack and a neutral safety switch and this trans is set to live a new life in my truck with no issues? I do not want to make the mistake of forgetting something.
And thanks for the help!
