Cruise control cancel's itself after 5-10 seconds

1995 F250 XLT 2WD Auto 5.8L

I can here a relay click on as normal but I can watch my RPM and notice the exact time it just cancels itself.

3-5-10 seconds regardless of up-hill or down-hill.

Were should I start guys?
