460 motor running issues
i have a 88 f250 with a 460 i just picked up. drove it about 60 miles home with no issues what so ever except a soft brake pedal. let it sit for a couple days went to go start it today and have no oil pressure on the gauge ( had great oil pressure when i picked it up and on the drive home plus it has full oil ) no lifter noise , no check engine light ( checked by pulling the codes) and it doesnt idle good sounds really rough and if you rev it up to about 1000 is has a miss.
im wondering where to start with and what trouble shooting i should start with. thanks for any help ya'll

If the '88, 460 is anything like the rest of the '87-96 trucks, that "Gauge" is a glorified idiot light. It simply runs off of pressure sending unit, registering anywhere between "L" and "H" when in operation, specifically around 7psi. Get a mech or digital gauge on it to determine real PSI.
There are a few threads on here explaining the conversion from idiot light pressure gauge to real psi gauge.
