Smile Hi all! New project started

Well, I've got to say this isn't my first Ford or ford truck, in the past I've owned a 79 2wd f150, a 78 4wd f150, and a 71 f100 4x4 ranger.. all of these never made it past their 2nd pa inspection, as they were all pretty bad rust buckets when I got them; and I am by no means a body guy. I did do a frame up on a 76 Chevy Scottsdale, starting in 2002 and getting rid of it (money problems) in 2010. By that time, instead of 2 kids, I had 4 with one on the way, and since everything I changed in 2002 was starting to need replaced again... well, lets just say, that the wife won that argument.
I believe taking on these projects are a labor of love, I don't know if anyone ever gets back enough money to justify the time and money spent on these projects, but we all do it, and keep doing it because we just feel the need to. Well after a few bad years and a divorce, I'm starting to get things together in my life and have found a new GF who lets me have my toys. We needed a vehicle that could fit at least 6 people, and I found my new project on Craigs list. A 1978 F-150 SuperCab 4x4. picked it up a few miles away for 1100. 400m, automatic. being a PA truck, it of course needs all the body work you would expect, but, it's mine, and I already feel that attachment that tells me I'll be wrenching on her for years to come. I'll see if I can't post some pics on here.

not sure if that worked or not, but if anyone has any parts for these trucks, let me know I need a few oddball pieces. Hope to make some quick progress on this so that I can update this with pics soon. Hope to get to know you all and the ones that are close, maybe we can get together sometime for a couple drinks!

Thanks grinnergetter! It has its issues, but nothing I don't think I can handle, I already got some things figured out, i.e. lighting issues, (It looked like my 2 year old wired it while getting advice from my 6 year old daughter) got the dome light working and I think I got rid of all the fire hazards... Just out or curiosity, did any of these trucks come with a Holley 2 barrel instead of the motorcraft? Mines a Holley with a converted hand choke, (that will pull shut, but not push open) and a suspected vacuum leak. The guy I bought it off of said he thought the brake booster was failing, when I got in it to drive it home I realized the problem with the brakes was the idle was set at about 1100 rpms.. I idled it down but it's a bitch to keep running when cold or at stop signs. Oh well, if I don't figure it out , it'll be a post for another thread when I get the money to deal with it. I can truly say that these message boards and groups are a godsend!! if you don't look at ****, its one of the only other reasons to own a computer! :-P ( just kidding lol)

That's a REAL nice looking truck for a Pa. truck. I had a few up there myself, but that was many moons ago, though. Good luck with it and keep us posted.
