I have the chance to purchase a 1979 Ford F250 Super cab Lariet with a 460 and a c6 and a Dana 60 Rear end

Is this a rare truck?

It's not a rare truck, but it looks to be in damn good shape for only a $1000. I'd grab it.

 

It is in good shape, little bit of rust above the rear wheel.

and the engine is partially dis-assembled....

 

BUY IT! The tailgate alone is worth $500.
