When i start my 96 F150 5.0 it will start on the front fuel tank but it wont stay running and it sounds boggy. But when i switch to rear it starts and runs good and then i switch to front while its ruinning and runs perfectly fine sometimes it will start on front sometimes it wont. When you start your truck on the rear tank, and then switch to the front, will it run indeffinatly? As in can you then drive it off the front tank?

Really??? Maybe the front pump? It could be that your front pump is week and needs "help" from the rear pump to get started, and once you've got fuel running to the engine the front pump can keep up. Or you maybe have an injector problem. I would deffinatly get the advice of some of the more experienced guys to know for sure.

Can you hear the front pump running once your trucks started?

My guess is your pump is gone, and your switch has an electrical problem.
