A Ranger seat with a thinner back will be a better gain in beltline space, than removing the gas tank, IMO.

Thanks again for all the advice.
Cold and sloppy down here too. I spent the day trying to get my kid's silo unloader working. Froze my butt off.

The easiest way I've found to dismantle the front clip is to take it off as one unit and flip it upside down. There are only 8 bolts that hold it to the truck. Two under the radiator support one on each side about waist high and then the ones holding it to the running boards. I think that's it, it's been a while since I pulled on apart. Once you have it off and upside down go after the nuts and bolts with either an angle grinder or my favorite, a torch.

Yooper -

If you are removing your front clip (fenders, grille, and valance) best to remove it as a single piece. Much easier that way.
