It does look to be in great shape. Congratulations. When you are able may we include its serial number, M-H numbers, and axle number in our records? Thanks.

Edit - also, I'm unable to save the pictures from the sales listing. May we ask you to post pictures of the truck? Thanks. Stu

Whats the story with the body shell Stu? The rear half of these don't look like a factory ford panel truck. Do you know if they cut the back of a pickup cab off and sent it to a coach builder or is this what ford panels looked like across the pond?

Built in South Africa iirc, and specially coach built I'd guess. Never seen any others that resemble them. All are '51s, and I believe six cylinders. The other owners who have joined here haven't stayed real actively involved to help us learn about them. Hope Hans can offer some insights, history of their service, etc. Stu.

Interesting history. I just found this Hub Garage file of the dark blue ambulance in the UK. Stu

Hans - your engine will be the 226 cubic inch version. Both the 226 and 254 used the same water pump, 7HA 8501. The gasket is listed as included with the pump. If you have no local sources and must import from the US, my view would be that this is a perfect time to establish yourself and your M-H as customers of Chuck's Trucks in Connecticut. Chuck Mantiglia is the owner and is expert in these trucks. He is my primary parts source for my trucks. Below is his web page.

Chucks Trucks LLC., Chuck's Trucks, Chucks Trucks

Tires in the 7.50 x 17" size, having the aggressive traction tread, are today limited to the Tornel brand linked below. These are available on eBay, and from Coker.

https://www.cokertire.com/750-17-tor...on-10-ply.html

Brake lines to my view should be steel. I redid mine myself after buying a quality double flaring tool. Others can speak up if they have other viewpoints. Stu

Yes, any traction tire will make more road noise than a highway tread. The STA available from Coker looks like your better option. Stu
