im new to 6.0s i know they have there problems but i cant find anything about this one. when the engine is cold it turns over fine but when it fires it goes to normal idle rpm at about 600 rpms for a second than revs itself up past 1000 rpms and then dies down to normal and then idles normal from there. this happens all in the matter of a few seconds.. could this be the start of a problem or is it even something to worry about any help would be great thanks alot guys..

My 06 low idles for about a minute after start up and then goes to high idle. It stays there until I tap the brake pedal or move the gear shift selector. Don't know if this helps but it doesn't sound serious at this time. Submit your posts in the 6.0 forum, all the Aces hang here

 

this could be a cold weater feature for engine warm up, it could be failed ipr or failed icp or icp connector. any of the above is possible.
