Welcome.

First thing I can tell you is you have an 87+ bed on there...

On and your truck looks dark blue...

David - How can you tell about the bed? The shot is soooo dark I can't tell anything. That truck looks good, but even Dad's truck would look fair in the dark.

The rear wheel opening is round (front one is square) those of us who can still see can discern this.

Yeah i was told a tree fell on the original bed so they replaced it. But there's only one spot where its trusted through and its a small patch behind the rear passenger wheel. Other than that it seems in great shape, ill try to get some lighter pictures of it up tomorrow.

Unfortunately, you are correct - I can't see. And, it has gotten worse in the last month.

Just thinking out loud, could you use the 80-86 Bed sides on an 87-up bed?

I don't see them, either, but I can edit his post and see he's trying to use Facebook as an image host which is inherently a bad idea.

Kinda like trying to use Google mail as an image host.........

In my opinion, they are all irritating to figure out and use.

For you.... to create an Album....

- Go HERE and create yourself a new Public album
- Uload some pictures into it, save the changes
- Click on a picture you want to put into a post
- Copy the BB Code that shows up below the picture. Green-highlighted stuff here:

- Paste that text into your post
- Preview the message to see how it will look (will probably have to use the Advanced editor to do that). Submit it when you're happy.

Sit back and feel good at having accomplished something.

The same thing needs to be done if you use Photobucket or any other hosting site but the specifics of how you do it are different, you get to figure it out.

The following thread has a YouTube movie somebody here made on doing this with Photobucket:

FTE has a Testing forum where you can go make and edit test posts as much as you like:

Testing..... - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums

Yes.

If a 87 to 96/97 bed will fit, then so should an 80 to 86 fit a 87 to 96/97. The frames were more or less the same, with differences in how the front bumpers mounted and the front body panels.

Most people use the 87 to 96/97 model beds because of the fact that they're not as old, possibly had better paint and metal, and are more commonly seen on the roads than the 80 to 86 trucks. They're also usually in better shape.

I see way more 87 to 96/97 models than I do 80 to 86.

Just to clarify a bit ... The change is between 96 and 97, thus 80-86 and 87-96

Where you host the image depends on how long you want it to remain working!

Best thing to keep from ruining a thread is host them here on FTE.

-Enjoy

1983, I was referring to the repair panels - the full bedsides, not the whole bed. I'm wondering if you could use the 87-up bed as a donor and use the 80-86 quarter panel/bedside so it looks like the 80-86 bed. The wheelhouse is different but that could be changed. This way if you don't have a bed or yours is rotted/beat beyond repair it's an option.

I know the hole beds fit - they're a bolt on.
