x2 on Old WD's post #12 and Madge's post #13 both. :)

I took the ZF's plug from the '90 F250 >8500# donor truck and soldered
it (+heat shrink & tape) into the '91 Bronco's wiring harness.

The silly-to-me clutch cut out was already jumpered and I left it that way. ;)

---------------------------

Don't know about diesel-anything really but on gas-EEC's there is a wiring
change needs to be done to keep the EEC from getting a "trace" burned
up when swapped into the opposite type vehicle.

Can't remember the specifics and can't find my notes either one. :/

Mustang EEC's:
A manual-A9L EEC can be messed up by an automatic-A9P's vehicle?

And it looked to be the same-thing-needed-done-before putting the F250
manual-EEC in the Bronco.

Ok, that's all the damage I can do, you clatter-box-guys hash it out from
there. LOL:)

It is possible to use the auto harness, altho at this time I don't remember wire determinations or pin numbers. Re pinning/splicing/soldering is an option. I was only suggesting a "plug and play" method because Travis has a donor truck available. Either way is fairly simple.

Jason, I hate to get off topic, but it's what we do here! What did you dyno at? I'm wanting to do pretty much the same setup as you. Have you towed much with your setup? How are EGT's?

Check out post #112 of Tyler's thread. He posted some good info of the wiring mods when we did his first swap.

Thanks Bill - no mention of the reverse lights in Tyler's post - though i only read the one post you mentioned...

But i did forget about the 4x4 dashboard lights. it'd be nice to retain that. does that one set of wires do the '4x4' and the 'low' light for when you pop it into low range? i'm guessing yes and that there's a common ground for the two elsewhere on that harness and/or through the chassis.

IIRC, the 4x4 / Low switch on the t-case is basically two switches, both of which ground to the t-case; thus only two wires. That should work the same for either tranny. There is a feed IIRC from the low range wire to the auto PCM, but again, it's just not used with a manual, so the dash lights should still work.

Todd,
Last year at RRE I dynod at 408hp and 718tq. That may be all it has or maybe I could have done better?? It was my first dyno so I was a tad bit nervy and I dont have studs, springs, or pushrods so I was letting out around 3200 rpm(IIRC). I also have more tweeking to do but cash for the truck has been directed elsewhere in the last year. I was just pleased to get over 400!! so it is what it is for now. Hope to see you at rre this year!

I'm willing to bet there's more in it. You may be dropping icp on a hot tune with those 180s. I've seen quite a few stage 2 and 66mm setups do 420-480hp.

Well fellas I finally got a free night and a whole day, so the thrash on this project has begun. I got off work tonight at 10pm. Its now 1:30am and we got the E4OD out, the floor pan out, the pedals swapped and the clutch hydraulics installed. I'm stopping for tonight so I can put the chip back in my truck, but tomorrow I hope to pick up the driveshafts and have it on the road tomorrow night.

The auto has been destroyed thx to the power created by Mr Jim Rose and Tony Wildman. Lol. Its on its last leg guys. I'm not too sure what he's going to do with it yet, but shipping to yall I'm sure would be $200 or so. Lol

Caught a 4 hour nap and I'm up. We got the shop clean, about to have breakfast and go pick up driveshafts.

Already running into issues. The wiring harness we have from the parts truck is trash. Its broken in several places and I'm going to have to spend a few hours rebuilding it. Jack is going to continue in on the job under the truck getting things cleaned up and ready for the clutch. I'll set up the clutch and stab the trans when he's ready for it. Until then.. wiring... ughhh I hate wiring...
