well i got tired of slip sliding around on the four highway donuts under my truck. four Treadwright retreads in the 285 size are on their way to go on the 16x10 rims i have (that the garbage 315's i had for a quick minute were on.. the ones in my sig). i've been researching them for a couple years now.. looking forward to seeing how they do.

What's the load rating on them? Looking into what to put on mine when I wear current tires out but pickings are slim in 18" load range e sizes.

maybe. not for tire mounting tho, lol.

we had a hard time getting the 315's beads to seat... the 285's are even narrower.

That link showed 2 different tires, I'm assuming the $140 tires?

that link was for both the 18" rim sizes they offer (much more limited than 15-17" currently).. looks like the all-terrain looking tread isn't currently available in an 18". but yes, i got mine for 16" rims for $144 each. went with the MTR-looking mud terrain tread.

Good looking tire. I didn't look at anything else they offered, but I've been thinking about some dedicated snow tires on stock rims.

yeah hopefully these will ultimately be my winter setup (if i ever lift this thing and get the wheels/tires i really want), which is why i went narrower. thought about getting the kedge grip (look on their site for info on that), but didn't figure 8800lb of truck needed any help wearing lugs down.

I saw that too. Seemed to be a neat concept.
