timing an idi

can anyone help me out. I need to time my 7.3 idi injection pump.

1989f250IDI is starting off with a positive reputation.
Everyone says to adjust it a dimes width at a time. But it can be dangerous to adjust it to far to the advanced side. I was wondering if someone close had a meter for an idi.
