Yep...I now have brand new (300 miles on them Hurcules 33X11.5X16's on my stock wheels cause I thought I could run them on my X and the 4" lift...cost me about $2,400 for new tires and wheels. So I wasted $1,100 on the 33x11.5. If you want them and stick with 33's they are for sale. I would once again suggest a bigger wheel and tire though

On craigslist I found a set of 18inch kmc rockstar rims (not sure if I like them) on tire size 255/70/18 for 750. Would that fit/look good on my excursion? Tire sizes confuse me

I went with 4" hanger shackle up front. You keep your stock springs thus keeping the ride the same. I'm running 24" wheels and Pirelli ATR 325/45/24 tires. love it!

One thing to remember the excursions are 2" lower than the f250s so when your looking a lot of these companies say its 6" of lift but in reality it's 4" for the excursions because they use the same springs.
The rear spring lifts do not have the same stock towing capacity, might not be the best setup for the op.

I have completely stock suspension and I have LT285/75R16~33's Toyo M/T's on stock rims and no rubbing. Just if you wanna have a more stuffed wheel well look. For a nice stance not worry about gears, I'd definitely look into the V/mod B swap, and congrats on the X

Here's mine

If this is about money(least), still being able to tow, and 35's buy the BDS 6" kit. I tow a 30' TT with that setup and no problems towing. You may want to add a rear sway bar, but tow with it first. BDS springs are a little stiffer than others, but you should have no problems with the 8000 you tow. If you want wider than a 12.5 tire (315/75 16) without rubbing, then you will need 8" of lift. I went with 35/14.5 16 (365/65 16) and needed the 8" lift and the bumper moved out 2", and I removed the front valance, but I play in the dunes a lot and rubbing drives me nuts. I rubbed holes in the fender wells with the 6' kit.

BDS is a great company! They stand behind their product and mean what they say when they say no ?'s asked warranty. I had my original springs re-arched and they sagged. BDS replaced them with 8" springs and all I payed was the difference in the springs, $60. No ?'s asked. I told the dealer what I did and they still replaced them. There stock shocks aren't bad, though I replaced them with Bilsteins.

Buy what you can afford and upgrade later. I found MT classic locks in 16X12 on CL for $300, first set of tires for $200...
