I dont know how I missed the SALVAGE title.
While it doesnt nearly effect the value on a 18 year old truck like it does on a newer one, it still does effect it.

NADA lists that truck in Clean as $4,762 but your SALVAGE title really hurts things. O an that was in NJ where it is the MOST EXPENSIVE state to live

Here's a $4600 truck in WA. 460 CC/LB F350 4x4

Little higher miles but again, 460. And $4200 to boot.

And the last, a PSD F250.

There's a lot of competition in truck in WA right now.

Only thing with those rigs is they all have fairly high miles which is probably why they are cheaper. His has lower miles although the salvage title doesn't help.

Right, I'ts rare you can find a truck this old with just over 100,000 miles, everyone seems to sell them at 200,000. also, if you have 2 trucks of the same year, but one has a bunch of stuff replaced that would have worn out and needed replacing (fuel pump, ball joints ect.) and is well maintained, and one is not so much. Even if the first is slightly more, (4-5k) I would go with it. simply because the previous owner has saved me alot of trouble by replacing the the stuff that needs to be before I bought it.And those trucks listed, are all $4000 on up, not 2500-3000$. Thanks for your guys' help! any more advice or opinions welcome

Here is how I look at it. For an insurance company to brand a car totaled in a wreck a good amount of damage had to occur. I would say at least half of the cars value. When it was wrecked at 90k miles it was probably worth $8k-9k. Half of that is $4k-5k in damage for a repair. Last I checked a hood and some fenders with paint doesn't add up to $4k-5K in repairs which leads me to believe there was some frame damage involved, as well as overall shifting in the body. That's is going to make it hard to sell. Don't be surprised if you get very few buyers coming with a salvage title. Most people will see that and be very hesitant. And the ones that come are probably gonna want a FULL inspection, not just engine/drivetrain, but body, frame, alignment ect. I know I would want all of that checked before thinking of handing money over. And if anything was off I would walk away. My brother's girlfriend just bought a civic with a salvage title on it because it was a good deal. Unfortunately, as perfect as it looked on the outside, when you look under the thing you can clearly see where the damage was. She has tried to get an alignment done on it 4 times at 4 different places, all of which can't get it just right.

Well I guess the real way to find out is to put it on the market and see what gets people's attention. I hear what you're saying and i may have to drop down to 4k, but I really can't afford to go lower than that. I'm hoping to buy a newer (99-03) powerstroke. Thanks much!

Those trucks are priced BELOW the 5k you say your truck is worth.

They have CLEAR titles

One is a CREW CAB BIG BLOCK

one is a DIESEL

and the 3rd is a big block

yet they are still priced LESS than you think truck is worth.

But list your truck for 5k and prepare for all the phone calls

Well I looked KBB and Its stated my truck is worth $6,000. And NADA says $5,475. I'll list my truck for 5k and people can always make an offer, like they always do.

O and this is in WA where it is apparently CHEAP to live??

i think you made up your mind.just list 'er.she'll sell or she wont and you'll have to drop the price or keep it.
unlike Brad,i think these fuel prices do not make 460 trucks desirable.so when emphasizes BIG BLOCK along with the diesel, when trying to explain higher worth,im chuckling to myself.
with your smaller v8,least you have that going for ya.id take a 351w long before id touch a 460 (id prefer the 300-6) i wouldn't touch yours with a salvage title,id just keep looking myself, but hey someone might.you'll know when you list it.

i know how it is.id be laughed right off this forum if i hinted on what id have to list mine for,to get me to part with it.the self worth of mine set up perfectly for my needs is priceless.often they're worth far more to us than anyone else.
best of luck!

List it for what you want, if you get that much for it , great. If ya don't get any takers you can always drop the price, no harm done.

Sold $4800 without the tool box. Goes to show the market is whatever someone is willing to pay.
