1965 F-600 NP 435 Transmission Question

Just acquired a 1965 F-600 dump truck. The transmission pops out of reverse gear. Thanks to NumberDummy for helping me decode the warranty tag, I now know it has a New Process 435 four speed transmission. Will any 2WD NP 435 out of most Ford trucks work in the bigger F-600, or is it a different transmission altogether? Any information about this will be greatly appreciated.

It should have a longer input shaft than most pickup transmissions. A transmission from a '65/'66 4X4 (excluding the '66 F100) or '65/'66 F350 should have the same input shaft.

I was hoping to avoid this thread, as there are too many variables, that takes way too much time to research. But since you've opened the can of worms...

If you have the time, could you find the input shaft length of a 280V clark out of a '69 F600 with a 361? I looked but get easily confused by the parts book.

Do you know if any of the 5 speed transmissions you listed below (or above) have 5th gear as an overdrive or is 5th gear direct drive only?

In your other thread, in order to determine which 5 speed it is, you posted the VIN and MODEL code. I need the TRANS code.
