Door switch for overhead lamp

Door switch for overhead lamp
I just removed my overhead light in my Bronco and wired up an aftermarket light. Anyways, when I open the passenger door it comes on but when I try to open the driverside it doesn't turn on. I looked at the switch on the door and it isn't stuck so I don't know what it could be.
Any ideas?

I had the same issue with my 93. Not sure how far back the driver's door switches were like this, but both my 92 and 93 have a multi-circuit switch in the driver's door only. One circuit handles the door chime module and seat belt warning and the other handles the interior lighting. I found that someone (PO) had tried to disconnect the door chime module at that switch and simply disconnected the wrong wire.
However, if the old fixture worked when you opened the driver's door and the new one does not, that is puzzling since I assume you connected it in the same manner as the old ceiling fixture.
