That's what I would call a "****** strap". They have some give to them so that you can do exactly what he did in the video. I pulled a friend's 1-ton van buried to the ***** in mud out with a 2wd F150 and a ****** strap. I just had to take enough of a running start. I also have a tow strap that is similar in size and weight rating, but it doesn't stretch.

Its actually a lifting strap for an overhead crane. they are rated for a crazy amount of weight, and also have a bit of give for the snatching action. I love em, been using straps like this for years

Great vid. I did the same with my former rusty as hell 93, when our driver got the landing gear hung up in the blizzard in 2010.

I'm just glad this thread wasn't deleted before you were able to put that up. Where the heck do you get a beasty strap like that?

A buddy of mine works for a local construction company, and he gets em for free. OSHA says the straps are junk if ANY of the fibers get frayed, which means they only last on the jobsite for about 2 months. Then their supposed to throw them out, but we found a better purpose for them.

The problem with those slings, it they are not for shock loads. I realize you are not lifting with it(its designed purpose) but a regular tug em strap is designed for shock loading like pulling a truck out with a run shot

Ya, I was going to say.........."Watch this" as you backup for a running start. LOL!! I've seen those snap straps and they will get stuff unstuck if you work them right.

Great work, sounds GOOD!

I've used both, and I've had better luck with a tow strap. Both with being able to actually tug what I was trying to get unstuck, and with shock to the truck.
