Not having the things I need, when I need them most...like: Patience, Time, Money, & Experience.

On the other hand, the best thing about my build: working on this truck is good therapy for a cluttered mind.

Ditto on do overs

Had 8 years to plan but still come up with "better" ideas on how the truck should function.

I wish I would have looked around more for original Flathead, but money ruled the day.

Definately all the sanding involved. Had 3 trucks going at same time, and
sanding was really getting old.

Winter I only have a 2 car garage, Half for momma's truck and the other half for snow removal / winter stuff. Can't get to my truck till spring, when my wife is OK with parking outside.

Not having the overhead door quite all the way open when pushing the truck back in the shop after painting the cab. Now I can repair the crunch in the roof.

I kinda hated having my drive train and chassis on skates get loose and roll down the drive way and across the street! Or maybe it was the process of ropes and pulleys to bring it back up the driveway and into the garage.LOL
Just my way of supplying neighbors with a topic of conversation.

I am doing the Vintage Air right now. I bet I've had that evap up and down about 200 times already. Just when I think I've got the right spot, something else isn't right. Real PIA.

Any chance of some progress reports and sage advice? I'll be looking at the same thing in a couple months.

I would have to agree with Harrier on this subject. Money is always a big problem these days.

Been playin' with old junk of some kind most of my life and can not say I hated any of it. It has been great therapy, stress relief, and allowed me to develop a great relationship with my boys. Years past, it was even profitable.

Me... that is: me, myself, and I. The idiot who thought he had to wait until he had this big chunk of cash before ripping in. I left it garaged undriveable (shot electrical system) for years before starting. I should have gotten into the project long ago instead of waiting due to income issues.

I maybe misunderstood by many but the most hated part of my build so far over the last 12 years is...my Wife. Lord knows I love her but this is the truth.

I didn't do the Surefit kit for the '53-56. I've got a panel, so I wanted a bigger evaporator for extra cooling. I ended up doing a custom setup with the Gen IV. When they say custom, they mean you have to customize everything.

I'd hope the Surefit kit would be much easier. For advice, I'd say spend alot of time planning the install. Lay it all out and make sure you know how each hose and wire is going to go before you start anything.
