Can you disable regen and DEF with a tuner, while leaving everything in place?

Just wanted to bump this thread because I didn't see a response. Anybody know? I see tuners like the Mini Maxx that advertise they can, "Turn off EGR without removing ANY parts" so I'm curious.

With h&s you just have make sure to unplug the egr, I left my egr pipe in place for about 6 months, but you will need the plates if you want to have egt readings and to set your defueling.
My egr pipe was still pretty clean, I've been meaning to post some pics of the egr internals with 32k.

Thanks for clarifying that...I wasn't certain if you could leave it on there or not.

Thanks for the clarification. A few more questions, do you have any photos from the engine bay with the EGR removed? How long did the removal process take? Wondering if CA smog will notice the EGR is removed, assuming coding it out via the H&S doesn't throw and CELs.

Unless there is any physical evidence of tampering with an emissions device, your smog inspector will accept it.

How would they NOT notice, When the look under the truck and see the space ship exhaust system missing and straight pipe in it's place.
I've seen them here, stop what they are doing and send you on your way saying, We can't inspect you until you come in with the emission system in place. It's just a quick glance under the truck and they know it's been deleted.

The parts to perform these mods - dpf delete pipe, tuner capable of dpf delete etc - are becoming more and more difficult to find and are fetching a premium price. IMHO the day is coming where these parts will not be available on the open market. CARB and other state emission boards are becoming increasingly more technical - being overlooked at inspection time is becoming a thing of the past.
