Differential Yoke Replacement

Some friends of mine have a 1995 E-350 van with the 10.25" Sterling Full-Floating axle. They ignored some driveline vibrations for a long time and eventually ended up breaking the U-joint and the yoke flange that comes out of the rear differential. So I need to replace the yoke and the U-joint. I've replaced a U-joint before on another vehicle so I'm set there. Is the yoke replacement as simple as just unbolting the old yoke, sliding the new one in and tightening to spec, or are there special tools involved? What type of lubricant should I use and where should it be applied? (no laughing please ) Thanks in advance for the advice.

Note: I realize this is the F-series forum, but since the differentials are exactly the same, I thought I could get more help here.

As far as I know the 10.25 is just like the 8.8 only has a larger ring gear.
Yes it has a crush sleeve (called a Collapsible Spacer #4662).

Thanks for the advice. How does the drive pinion seal install. Can it be tapped in with a rubber mallet or does it need to be pressed in?

Maybe I will go downstairs and get the part# off the bag (Ford only sells them in pairs)
Check to see the applications.

Thanks anyhow Bill!
