Extended warranties - options

Extended warranties - options
I have an oppotrunity to get an ESP warranty out to 125k/6yr for a reasonable amount of $. That is probably what I am going to do, but my question is what other kinds of coverage is out there.
I checked Geico for their mechanical breakdown coverage, but since I don't have geico insurance to begin with I can't get it - and the limitations on it up front is less than 15 months old/15,000 miles (I'm over both) with max coverage up to 100,000 miles.
I have an opportunity to get a third party warranty, but it is about $800-1000 more than the Ford ESP deal.
My insurance company doesn't offer mechanical breakdown coverage (travelers).
So ultimately I am trying to ensure coverage of my fuel system, or anything else major, that has a chance of Ford denying warranty. In which case the ESP wouldn't cover it, and no mechanical breakdown coverage on my insurance probably means they won't cover it either.
I figure 3-4 repairs under the ESP will pay for the cost to me - EGR, electrical issues (already did one today, under 36k factory warranty), bearings, axles, etc. I'm sure I can find some things to charge to it to justify the purchase. Overall, though, I'm still concerned with the "big" claims - ones Ford would no doubt inspect and try to find a way out of.

PemiumCare Plus vs Diesel Care
I am also thinking about a ford esp. Trying to decide between ford PremiemCare Plus or Diesel EngineCare Plus. Do I nee both? Seems like the Priemium care plus covers some diesel engine components. I would greatly appreciate some suggestions on which one to buy. Only put about 6k a year at best on the truck. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I bought the Ford ESP Premium Care when we bought our truck 100,000 miles and 7 years. Sorry I don't have any real good info but that is what I did, time well tell if I made the right choice.
I talked to my insurance guy about mechanical breakdown coverage and they don't offer it either. I had him check out the Geico insurance also and he said that it does not cover the fuel system if it had been contaminated kind of like the Ford warranty.

I just purchased the Ford ESP Premium Care 5 yr 100k Bumper to Bumper for my F450 from Troy Dietrich at Ford of Greenfield this week. I have 18k miles and have had my F450 for 1 year. Troy fixed me up for $1,549. My selling dealer wanted just over $2,000 for the same warranty.
Aftermarket warranties are horrible with limited coverages and they negotiate what they'll cover on a case by case basis. IMHO the Ford factory warranty is the best way to go. I found Troy from other posts on this forum. The transaction was smooth and Troy was very easy to deal with.

I am covered for 5 yr/60K miles on powertrain standard upon purchase so I thought would be an overlap of coverage if I were to take the Diesel Enginecare Plus. So my choices were the Extra Care or Premium Care which for the extra cost of the Premium Care, heaven forbid, cost of repairs on the extra covered parts, would be a gain in the end. Each choice to their own based on their comfort level I suppose.

Flood Ford had the best prices when I bought the Premium Care.
