I am getting ready to adjust valves on a (1957) 312 Y Block. Can someone tell which valves are intake and which ones are exhaust. Thank You, 51FordTN

 

Here is my 239 Y-Block. The valves lined up with the exhaust ports will be your exhaust valves. The drivers side looks just like the passenger side, with the valve closest to the front of the engine also exhaust.
I would assume all Y-Blocks are the same, but I can't confirm.
