I have a 1983 6.9 with a stanidyne DB2-4102 which sells alone when looking to buy a reman. one for that year. This particular pump and injectors has 55,000 miles on a rebuild by a reputable diesel shop and was turned up some for power. I would like to put it and the injectors on a 1991 7.3 which has a DB2-4821 pump on it now. My question is, will I lose performance and power or do these pumps have the same fuel deliveries and pressures being the 7.3 is a slight larger bored engine? I also read something about the degrees of advance may be alittle different between these pumps, not sure what that all means. Any imput would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. I am no pump expert, but by most accounts, there are not significant changes to the DB2 pumps with exception of the fuel screw in the later models, and the high altitude version. There are some good posts here regarding pump performance and differences. There are about three thousand different DB2 pump model numbers that will bolt up to either the 6.9 or 7.3 and work. I would say that you won't have a problem putting it on. If I were you I would have the injectors pop tested. That might give you some insight on the quality of the parts in question, It isn't very expensive, and always a good idea. (the guy did it for me free last time I brought mine in! Said he'd get me next time!)
