2 x. If you don't find what's described here in a local hardware store you can buy a discontinued Ford part number D3TZ9747B. I 've sold a million of them back in the day to people with Bumps to convert to one piece rod.
Green Sales shows 4 @ 1-800-543-4959

Ok, I double checked, and mine and yours are hooked up the same, so my quoted statement is not completely correct.

Here's the "dash A" part installed:

And here's the "Dash B" part installed:

The area circled in red is the difference between parts.

It looks like the "dash B" part could be used in place of the "dash A" part, but not neccessarily the other way around.

I don't understand why the Ford Engineers would include the extra lever arm on the "dash B" part if it isn't hooked up to anything.

In looking at the exploded parts diagram, it shows that the extra arm on this assembly is for a spring ("9737") that connects back to a bracket ("9741") that apparently mounts onto the carb. Both the spring and bracket are marked for application on trucks with serial numbers under D26,001. The general group is F100 to F350, '67 to '72, for 302, 352, 360 and 390 V-8 engines.

So the older part has the extra arm and the newer part doesn't.

This makes me wonder if the older part is the "dash A" part, regardless of whether the truck is manual or automatic.

If this gets any more confusing, I'm going back to writing software.

Fordification has this parts catalog on their website (it's the CD version), or you can get your own CD from hipoparts.com

The usual problem lies with the bellcrank (7A185 in pic) that bolts to the left (drivers) side rear corner of the intake manifold that all the linkage attaches to.

The levers on the bellcrank have nylon bushings that wear causing the linkage to bind up. The bushings are not replaceable, so the bellcrank has to be replaced.

DOTZ-7A185-A .. Bellcrank / 1970/72 F100/350 360/390 w/a M/T / Obsolete ~ If this turns out to be the problem, 10 are available NOS
Hi ND,
Does the 302 engine use a different bellcrank? Looking for the part # for one for a 71 F100 with manual transmission.
