7.3 violent idle only firing on 5 cylinders
Hello,
As you can see this is my first post/thread, so thank you in advance for any help.
I was driving my F250 7.3L DI Turbo truck and while slowing down at a red light the engine began idling really rough, the truck was shaking violently. I turn it off and turn the truck back on, and all is good. I hit my brakes again and the rough idling returns. I have the truck towed back to my place.
Here's what I've checked first.
After letting the engine idle for a couple of minutes, the passenger side exhaust manifold was hot, driver side was cold.
-UVCH, i have the version that is 2 5 pin plugs, and from what I can gather, those are not as prone to failure like the 9 pin connector (correct me if i'm wrong). I've replaced the gasket and harness (the one under the valve cover)
-check fuel filter, looks clean
-Checked the OHm's for the injectors at the IDM. performed the GB tech bulletin 103. everything seems fine. they were all 2.9.
When i go to start it up, with the valve cover off (only the drivers side), injectors for cylinders 2,4, and 8 are not shooting out oil from the poppet. Cylinder 6 is shooting oil.
I'm stumped at what could be happening. any thoughts?
