hey rick, i don't know of anyone in that area, sorry man. i have been wanting to take my truck out to west coast diesel. they have two shops, one in livermore, and concord. the reviews on yelp seem pretty good and i like their website. as for dealerships, i've heard good things about the mission valley ford trucks shop...
you just need a reader though... sorry i cant help you with that. does it sound like you're getting air in your fuel? i know the Camshaft Positioning Sensor goes out from time to time on these trucks. i had issues with my oil pump keeping oil flowing to high pressure oil pump on startup. i changed it out and it made a world of difference.
you could have an injector issue too.
i'll ask some of the guys at work with 7.3's and see what they use in the way of code readers/mechanics.

Did you try bringing it to any mechanic shop and ask if they could pull codes for you. Wouldnt think they would charge for that, but what do I know
