Lowering 1986 F 150

Some folks have cut springs, but that can cause alignment problems, and if you lower it like you're talking, you will wind up with major alignment issues. If you want to lower it more than the 3 inches provided by the dream beams, you can go with a lower profile tire to get another inch. If you wish to go lower than 4 inches or so, you should consider a Crown Vic front end swap. Let us know what you decide.

This was the best writeup I have seen...sad thing is the pictures no long show. Shouldn't be too much difference from his verions to ours.

I have dream beams front, hangers and shackles in the rear for a 3/4 drop. I am running 255/45/18's all the way around. I plan to cut a bit of the front coil for 1 more inch drop to be happiest (or find 93-95 lighning coils). I converted my front end from king pin to 93 up ball joints (better adjustability).

Not much done lately. Started working on heat shields for the cats. It's been busy at work and really pretty cold, so haven't been spending much time in the garage.
