So at first I though someone to be screwing with me but I confirmed today, after some fun in the mud with my oldest boy, that my drivers side hub is locking on its own. I unlocked it when I was done playing and it was locked again when I got home. I think I have a ujoint going so it will be coming apart soon enough; are there any suspects to look for here? Maybe time for a set of superwinches.

Aside from that the 4x4 seems to work great! I know some folks on here have a stiff transfer case but mine goes in and out as smooth as butter. Good thing too cause I unexpectedly found myself in a sand pit where the 2x wasnt cutting it.

 

Oh... If it matters I am running a set of 1/4 turn hubs from a 90 something bronco.

 

I would make sure that you still have the little washer that isolates the larger spring from the outer bearing. I can see the spring digging into the **** enough to turn it if the washer was gone.

 

I will have to check that out. Thanks cause otherwise they seem to be in good shape.
