My '78 Nearing Completion (With Pics)
Just wanted to get some pics up of my '78 F150 that has been under construction for the past year. I included a before pic to show you what I started with. Still have some trim to add and some work that needs done on the interior, but hope to have it completed in the spring. I am wanting to sell the wheels and tires off of it. If anyone is interested or know of someone that might be, they are the factory aluminum wheels that came off of a '79 Lariat that my dad owned at one time. Hopefully the pics show up. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Thanks for the vote guys. According to the paint code, the truck was painted Dark Nectarine Metallic from the factory. I wanted to stay as close as I could to the factory color without matching it exactly. Ended up with Tangerine Pearlcoat. Will eventually put the dent trim on and and some bigger tires and wheels. Trying to decide whether to level up the front end or put as big of tires on it as I can the way it is. What do you guys think? I will try and put more pics up of the interior and such even though it's not quite done.

Very nice!
I'm just starting on my 78, so it's an inspiration to see the start-to-finish results.
But... couple of questions (If I may).
Thanks
I'm just starting on my 78, so it's an inspiration to see the start-to-finish results.
But... couple of questions (If I may).
- why did you remove F O R D from the hood? I see this both ways (leave OEM and remove, so I'm curious).
- I'd buy your wheels, but I have an F250 and need the 8 lug.
- Why the LED bar across the back? Again, not OEM. Are there a lot of rear end collisions in Iowa?
Thanks

Yeah Buck, I am not a real big fan of flat beds. Had to put a box back on it. As for your questions Memory man, I have the letters for the hood, just haven't gotten them put back in. The barrel nuts are gone out of some of the holes, so I have to figure out how to get the letters to stay in. As for the LED bar, I just like the looks of them. I am not all about having a numbers matching truck or anything, but I like keeping most things true to the year. I imagine that bar and a newer set of tires and wheels will be the only things that aren't fitting for the year. Hope to get more pics up as I get more things done.
