Oh, jokes on me.

And to answer that fixed question... it's still not running but because of myself and my father. We decided to mess with the new intake manifold I ordered and a couple other parts and well, "bolt on" need not apply for us. Spent all of Saturday afternoon trying to act like we knew what we were doing and well... we lost.

Told you we were dummies. Haha

We got everything taken off, everything put back on but couldn't get all the bolts in. Could get one side, other side would be like 1/8 inch too high. Fits just fine without gaskets and RTV, so seems like we just over did it on the RTV...

This goes back to my question several days ago....

How much were the heads and/or block milled? It is possible that you would have to have the intake milled to match the new angle created by the lower deck height.

RTV is squishy and would be extremely unlikely that its keeping you from bolting down your intake

I was told neither were, but that's becoming a bit more apparent that that doesn't carry much weight. Starting to seem like the best way for us to learn this crap on our own is to start from complete scratch. Good thing I have another 460 block, and a 351 block sitting in storage...

In the mean time the Stealth will just go in the pile of parts getting installed here in a week or so. Ordered everything we need re-gearing wise from Randy's and all those toys should be here this afternoon.

Haha, oh I fully intend to still use the damned thing.

It's funny, I called Randy's for an estimate and even the rep said 5.13. I felt bad, I busted out laughing considering the spot I'm in on it. They're 4.56, and as bad as it sounds I actually had the rep put me together a 5.13 package for future reference.

I have a pretty decent pile collecting up in the corner of my living room. I'll be adding the new seats and harnesses to the pile here in the next couple days too. I might as well go ahead and throw a kitchen sink in the pile too...

Oh, and I don't remember if I said anything about trying the 38's out. Stupid Chevy bed is really starting to bug me. I'm going to enjoy the hell out of taking a cutting wheel to it.

The bed itself or are you saying you don't think it needs trimmed?

Got the feeling I'm still letting sarcasm fly right over me.

Looks similar to my 79 with a mid 80's ford step bed. Minus my multi color paint and primer mix

Haha, how much should we look at trimming? Especially the front of the fender.

We're still looking for a Ford bed, but if we don't find it we'll survive. Hell, the owner before me riveted "Ford" into the back on the tailgate in a piece of metal haha. Don't have a picutre of it but I'll have to get it.

You wanna talk about paint? My Dad's thought is driver side of the truck Blue, passenger Grey.. and no that's not a joke. As a joke I said we should call the truck Family Feud, because my Mom and Dad were born and raised in PA and my sister and I both are VA bred. The name just stuck. Personally I'd rather go with blue w/ Grey stripes or vise versa.

Primer is starting to look pretty good huh? Haha

Paul is saying the cheby bed does not look too bad on the ford.
and i agree. but it does need some tender loving care with the plasma cutter around the bottom of the wheel arches.
