oil pressure sending unit question

I have an oil leak coming from my oil pressure sending unit it looks like its coming from right behind the three bolts closest to the power steering pump my question is, is there a gasket behind the oil sender unit and if there is can i just purchase the gasket rather than buying the entire unit from ford? and is there any easy way to get the unit out if anyone has ran into this problem and can give me a little info i would greatly appreciate it, maybe i can give my poor driveway a break from the oil shower.

Too my knowledge there is no gasket. They do sell an oil pressure sending unit socket, i purchased one for my bronco a few years back. I'd suggest upgrading to a mechanical gauge as well. Much more reliable.

i found an illustration on the oil cooler and there is a little gasket behind there, that's where my leak is coming from i stopped by sunrise ford yesterday and picked up the gasket for $15.98 (not too bad) im planning on replacing it this weekend possibly if the weather isn't too bad.

lol, yeah i couldnt figure out what it was called and someone told me it was the "oil cooler sending unit" so i just went with that hoping to get some answers about it i was probably confusing the heck out of everyone, and as far as keeping everyone posted i was thinking on doing a write-up with some pictures on my experience removing and replacing the gasket so hopefully some other poor soul wont pull his hair out trying to figure out where his leak is coming from and what to do to replace it we will see how the weather fares this weekend.

Posting photos of your ordeal would indeed be helpful, especially about this operation. Maybe list the tools you use too--that's beneficial too.

I'll be looking forward to your follow-up, hope its an easy go for you!
