47 1/2 Ton Rim Question

I currently have 5x5.5 16" rims but one is really hammered. I know these rims are tough to find, is there a more modern steel rim that can be used all the way around? I would like to stay with the 16" size or maybe go to the 17" size. Are there any restrictions on the depth of the rim I need to be concerned with?

Thanks for the help...
