Aussie, I got a measurement for you but only a rough measurement. With the diff. on the truck, it was hard to be real accurate because my tape measure had no clear shot to go flange to flange. It was blocked by the springs and the shock mounts.

But , I did it in segments, i.e. , flange to side of pumpkin X2=approx. 38.5 inches, plus the pumpkin aprox. 17.25 inches for an approximate total of 55.75 inches. That is as accurate as I can get, hope it helps.

Well now I'm even more confused! My F3 measures 61.5", wouldn't have thought a 59 would actually be narrower. When I measured mine I hung a string with a nut on the end from each flange until they just skimmed the ground and then measured between the two.

I will re-measure using that method, if I get home from work before dark tonight. I just measured one side, doubled it, figuring that each side would be equal.I then added the width of the pumpkin to get the total. Will try it again tonight.

I appreciate it mate, it's possible the pumpkin might be offset a little.

Aussie, I just realized what the discrepancy is.

I measured from the face to face of the flanges, that is where the brake hardware - backing plates, drums, etc. - bolt on.It does not include these items. You said WMS, which would INCLUDE these parts, no?

Not sure if I can get this measurement without removing the wheels. my truck is parked on the street , so I don't really want to remove the wheels if I do not have to, but I can try to measure the components and add these to my previous measurements?

Hey cowboy; I just measured mine from inside rim to inside rim=56.5 plus 4inch offset for each rim =64.5 +or_ .5 1959 Dana 60
So it would be 3 to 4"s wider then your present differential.
Good luck in your quest!

Bugger, thought I might have been onto a winner there. There must be an axle that fits, this conversion has been done quite a few times. Thanks for the time you've taken to help me though.

Aussie, ask this question in the 48-56 Forum, someone will possibly have the info you need.

Good luck, Steve.

I've bounced this around there a few times and struggling to find a definitive answer.
