Rear brake shoes

Rear brake shoes
I have a 1983 Ford F250 4X4
351W
GVWR 8,501-9,000 pounds and manufacture date of 6/83
With out removing the rear drums and measuring how can I determine the width of the shoes, 12x2 1/2 or 12/3 inch?
Is there a website that provides that kind of information? I know there are manufacturing differences in a given model year and differences based upon options so I am looking for a reliable place to dig out that information.
Thanks for any help.

My 82 parts book says the shoes size is 12x2-1/2 for F250 with the 5300lb rear axle,
and 12x3" for F250/350 with 6250, 7400, or 8100lb rear axle.
So you will have the 12x3" shoes.
My 82 F250 is 6800GVWR and has the 12x2-1/2 shoes. Mine has the semi-floating rear. You would have the full floating rear.

You can always buy both sets and return the wrong ones. I'd Check the shoes before you leave the store. They get boxed wrong a lot on these since you have 4 different shoes.
Right ( ) Left ( )
The shoe with the shorter lining goes toward the front (primary), longer one is the rear (secondary), and there is an inside/ outside that is stamped on the metal part.
