Oil filter cap

Getting ready to change the oil in my new to me F250, I have new motor craft filter. I am looking at the cap and it has Napa Gold written on it. Can I reuse the cap with the Motorcraft filter or do I need a new cap?

If it looks like this NAPA cap on the right, then you can't use it with a Motorcraft filter. Motorcraft cap on left.

You want and need a Motorcraft oil filter cap!!!!

Racor is the OEM manufacture (to Ford and Int'l) of the oil filter housing and their caps and filters are the only ones that fit properly.

Non-OEM caps and filters allow oil to by-pass and not be filtered or allow oil to drain back down into the oil pan and stay filled with oil... which is not good.

The only time the oil will drain out of the oil filter housing is when you un-screw the cap and it allows the filter to pop up and release the drain valve.

Buy a Motorcraft oil filter cap ASAP at the Ford dealer! They are to have special pricing for customers that got sold non-OEM caps and filters over the years and not stick it to them to badly in order to replace it back to OEM.

Watch this Youtube video regarding the Ford 6.0L oil filter:

Good luck.

That's what I was afraid of. Do most dealerships keep those in stock?
