instrument panel for $240

53-55 instrument panel went for $240.50 on ebay!!! It was not even in great shape of restored. I feel like ripping the one out of my truck to sell it right now. It looks better than that one!

here is the link: 1953 1954 1955 Ford Truck Speedometer with Gauges F 100 F 250 F 350 | eBay

what do you think?

I don't know if that's typical, sometimes you just get lucky. If you look at the bid history, there was 2 guys that wanted it pretty bad, and the winner was prepared to spend a lot more than he did. That did look like a pretty nice one. Just a little touch up on the bezel paint and it's good to go.

That's the magic of auctions. If you get two or more who want it bad the price gets driven up. If the first guy had been the only bidder it would have sold for $50. (Assuming there wasn't a reserve.)

But to put it in perspective, a new panel with a tach built in is priced at $969. Putting one together with reproduction parts will run around $500. So if everything is working, this is original and a fraction of the price.

Don't even think about it Abe. It's only money, this is your grandfathers truck!
