A clean 96 chev 1500 that needs a motor is worth 800 to a grand...
I'd be willing to bet that f150 is not geared for the 35s either.
Circus wagon with rust... nothing I would be interested in.
Big lifts look cool, but they really ruin the truck if your going to use it for a truck.
Hard to load any thing in the back, all the geometry is off for towing etc.
Especialy if it hasn't been regeared..can you say slow tranny eating gashog?
Don't mean to throw water on your fire.

i am by no means an expert, but from my experience here are a couple of things to look for :
... the clutch/brake pedal bushings/brackets are a weak point; make sure shifts are easy and get down and wiggle the pedals by hand to check for play.
... 5.8 is prone to cracking exhaust manifold; listen for a tick that sounds like lifter noise (either way, a pain in the buttocks).
... power steering boxes can be worn (or leaky) on an older unit; make sure steering is tight.
... a rebuilt 5.8 with a 5 speed should have plenty of power, even with big tires on it. i would be looking for a receipt for the engine rebuild, even if it was done 2 owners previous. it always amazes me that people can spend $3000 or more for a repair job and then, mysteriously, the receipt has vanished.
that's all i got. like others, i am curious as to why you want to let go of your low-mileage, heavy-duty diesel in favour of "rusty" ... ???

I have 33's on my f150 with 351 and that's as big as I would go with stock gearing.
If you look at the gap between reciever and bumper there is a bodylift on it or there wouldn't be a 4"gap.
I'd keep the truck you have if it was me. Your f350 will also have a solid front axle instead of the TTB front end.

^i just ordered that lower v-panel stainless trim thats on there myself.can't wait til warm weather to put it on,along with some other.im classic old school.the more chrome/stainless the better.
