This weekend, my AOD in my 91 F150 started slipping and I have burnt fluid. Can this transmission be swapped out for an E4OD easily or am I best to stay with the AOD?

 

i swaped from a AOD to a C6 in my 86 bronco and have nothing but trouble so far, if you swap i hope it works for you

 

What type of trouble have you had in the swap?

 

The E4OD is controlled by the computer, but the AOD is purely mechanical. If you swap to the Electronic, you'll have to buy a computer (~$180 reman) and do PLENTY of wiring. It's also the longest auto, so you'll have to cut your d'shafts.

 

i ve put 2 C6's in and the gear in all the ranges is reverse (reverse in drive,2nd and low)
